“The Chi,” a new one-hour drama series will kick off on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at 10 pm ET/PT on Showtime.
The upcoming series “The Chi” is created and produced by Lena Diane Waithe, who plays the role of a lesbian in “Master of None.” “John Wick 2’s” Common and “Hawaii Five-0’s” Elwood Reid are also working as executive producers, Spoiler TV reports.
“The Chi” is the story of an African-American young boy who will be seen growing up and making plenty of interesting activities including flirting with girls of his age. The boy named Kevin lives in an African-American society with a unified working class group of neighborhood in the South side of Chicago. The story revolves when he will be linked with unrevealed coincidences.
Alex Hibbert (as Kevin in “The Chi”) was first seen as Little in Barry Jenkins’ Oscar winning film, “Moonlight.” He was nominated for Best Young Actor for his sensational performance. He is one of the top-acting students in a drama school. He lives in from Miami.
The series of first ten episodes of “The Chi” is produced and co-executive produced by Erin Mitchell and Dave Rodriguez. Adam Glass joined Dave in the episode one. The names of the entire crew, the promotional photos, poster, and premiere date have been released.
The stars include Jason Mitchell as Brandon, Jacob Latimore as Emmett, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Ronnie, Yolonda Ross as Jada, Armando Riesco as detective Cruz and Tiffany Boone as Jerrika.
